SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chromatographic analysis of substances and can be used in the separation, identification and quantification of sulfur – and nitrogen-containing compounds of organic compounds. Method for determining the sulfur and nitrogen-containing substances in liquid hydrocarbon fuels is that a sample of the analyzed fuel and reference samples of groups of sulfur and nitrogen-containing substances and individual substances in groups are brought into contact with a chromatographic plate with an adsorbent layer – silica gel, the plate after contacting is placed in a chromatographic chamber, saturated with a solvent system, which uses a mixture of heptane and acetone with a heptane content of 50–99 % by volume, acetone 1–50 % by volume, or hexane and acetone with a content of hexane 50–99 % by volume, acetone 1–50 % by volume, or heptane and toluene with a content of heptane 50–99 % by volume, toluene 1–50 % by volume %, then the plate is uniformly sprayed with a saturated solution of chloranil in chloroform, dried, after which, by comparing the spectra of the analyzed sample and reference samples, gray-and nitrogen-containing compounds are identified by spectral profiles, their quantitative content is judged by the intensity of the analytical signal in the chromaticity channels.
EFFECT: technical result is to simplify the method for determining sulfur and nitrogen-containing substances in liquid hydrocarbon fuels and to increase the reliability of identification and quantification.
