SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical industry and specifically to a method for preventing or reducing biofilm formation in an infection site by introducing an aqueous chlorhexidine solution into a biofilm. Disclosed is a method of preventing or reducing formation of a biofilm on an infection site or on a potential area of infection in a subject, comprising administering an aqueous solution containing chlorhexidine in concentration of 1 % or less into biofilm.
EFFECT: disclosed method is used for effective prevention and reduction of biofilm formation in an infection site.
