SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology, and is intended for the treatment of eye injury. For the treatment of eye injury, which is selected from the group consisting of post-surgical inflammation, postoperative fibrosis, corneal injury, a cataract incision, laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) wounds and a photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) wound, the subject is administered an effective amount of an angiotensin peptide containing Nle3-A (1–7) (SEQ ID NO: 14). Also provided is a pharmaceutical composition for topical treatment of eye injury comprising (a) an angiotensin peptide comprising Nle3-A (1–7) (SEQ ID NO: 14), (b) an active agent selected from the group consisting of artificial tears thereof, and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

EFFECT: use of a group of inventions allows to reduce the duration of edema and inflammation, as well as to increase the strength of healing and restore the transparency of the cornea of the eye.
