FIELD: machine building; construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of joining two objects. This method of joining two objects includes the steps of: providing the two objects containing different materials, while the first material is solid and has thermoplastic properties, and the second material is solid and is penetrable by the first material in the liquefied state, while one of the two objects additionally has an opening with a depth, and the other of the two objects additionally contains an insertion part, moreover, the opening and the insertion part are designed so that there is a possibility of positioning the insertion part in the hole with an interference fit, wherein said first and second materials constitute at least part of opposite surface areas of the insert portion and opening pressed against each other in the interference fit, establishing the interference fit by placing the insert portion in the opening and applying an interference force; after establishing the interference fit, anchoring the insert portion in the opening by transferring energy, which is suitable for liquefaction of the first material, to the vicinity of said opposite surface areas in an amount and for a time sufficient for liquefaction of the first material, while the second material remains solid, and interpenetration of the first and second materials in the vicinity of said opposite surface areas, stopping the transfer of energy for a time, which is sufficient for the first material that has been liquified during the step of anchoring to re-solidify.
