FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of braking a railway vehicle is proposed. A railway vehicle contains a managed by a predetermined value (Fout) to the braking action in the form of input values of braking system (5). Predetermined value (Fout) of braking action is generated and issued to braking system (5) in the form of variable during time (t) value until vehicle stops. In first braking phase (Dt1), predetermined value (Fout) of braking action is generated and issued depending on request (Fin) for braking. In a later braking phase, which is performed after the first braking phase (Dt1), the predetermined value (Fout) of braking action is generated by means of stop controller (13) in the form of output value of regulator. At that, to stop controller (13) in the form of regulator input value speed (v) of rail vehicle movement is supplied and stop controller (13) regulates speed (v) of movement of railway vehicle to zero given value. A device for braking a railway vehicle and a railway vehicle are also proposed.
EFFECT: comfortable braking of the railway vehicle for people in the vehicle is achieved in a short time before the stop.
