FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing molybdenum catalyst soluble in hydrocarbons for epoxidation of olefinic hydrocarbons with organic hydroperoxides. Method of producing molybdenum catalyst for epoxidation of olefins is carried out by dissolving metallic powdered molybdenum in waste water with a peroxide concentration of 0.25–1.10 mol/l at 30–50 °C, formed during co-production of styrene and propylene oxide at the stage of water washing of ethylbenzene oxide at a mass ratio of waste water:molybdenum 1:(0.006–0.025), respectively. After dissolving molybdenum in wastewater, molybdenum is precipitated with 8-oxyquinoline at a molybdenum:8-oxyquinoline weight ratio of 1:2, respectively. Molybdenum sediments is carried out with stirring for 30 minutes and a temperature of 50 °C.
EFFECT: invention allows to simplify method of obtaining molybdenum-containing catalyst for epoxidation of olefins using wastewater industrial production of styrene and propylene oxide, as it does not require dewatering step and further dissolution of the catalyst in hydrocarbon solvent before epoxidation process.
