SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electric power industry. Method of digital control of the process of monitoring, maintenance and repair of overhead power lines includes the collection of information about the parameters of overhead lines using sensors and robotic devices, three-dimensional representation of overhead lines, storing information on the status of overhead line elements in the updated information system in the form of a digital overhead line model, consisting of three-dimensional models of overhead line elements and reflecting the current state of overhead line elements with the display of existing defects, as well as the predicted time of occurrence of possible defects. At the same time, the digital model of overhead lines is characterized by the specification up to the level of fasteners of overhead lines. Also an element-by-element report is generated, containing a structured list of defects of overhead line elements with an indication of their types and elements on which they are localized, with the provision of visualized diagnostic data, as well as data on the technical and economic condition of the transmission line. Also the corresponding system has been claimed.

EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the likelihood of damage in the power supply system.
