SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tools for excavation, in particular, to tools on buckets, knives and other working tools used in mining and construction equipment. Wearing element for excavating tools comprises body with front part, rear part, upper part, lower part, inner side part and outer side part, front lower edge, front upper edge, front edge of inner side, front edge of outer side, front surface, front recess, front bottom surface, front top surface, front recess surface, rear upper edge, rear edge of inner side, rear edge of outer side, and rear surface. Front edge of inner side includes inner lower front part adjoining front lower surface along front interface of inner side, between part of inner side and front part, and coinciding with transverse axis defined by perpendicular to longitudinal axis and vertical axis. Rear surface is substantially parallel to front bottom surface and front top surface. At that ratio between thickness of lower part of body or thickness of upper part of body measured along vertical axis between front lower surface or front upper surface, respectively, and rear surface, and thickness of part with recess, measured along vertical axis, between surface of front recess and rear surface is in the range between approximately 1:1 and approximately 3:2.

EFFECT: protection of excavating tools against abrasive wear and multiple shocks, increased service life of excavating tools.
