FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for communication via a mobile communication network, wherein the mobile communication network comprises one or more network elements providing a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to a communication device or receiving signals from a communication device. Method includes the following: transmitting a random access message to a first network element over a random access channel of a wireless access interface that is common to one or more other communication devices; receiving, from the first network element in response to the random access message, acknowledgment, which provides an indication of the allocation of communication resources of the shared uplink channel for the communication device to transmit signals to the first network element, or negative acknowledgment, which provides an indication that the communication device has not allocated communication resources of the shared upstream channel. In response to the failure by the receiving device to accept either acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement within a predetermined time, the random access message is re-transmitted one or more times, each retransmission of the random access message occurs after a variable delay that is greater than or equal to the delay of the previous retransmission, and each retransmission of the random access message is transmitted with a higher power compared to the previous retransmission and a second network element is selected, to which the next random access message is transmitted, wherein the second network element is selected in accordance with the criterion of selection or re-selection of a network element, which contains a negative offset, made for application to the power of signals received from the first network element.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the efficiency of accessing communication resources of a mobile communication network.
