FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for sharpening of a blade. Blade sharpening device has a cutting edge limited by two sides converging to the plane (X), in which the cutting edge is located. Device comprises two control surfaces, each of which is in contact with the corresponding side of the cutting edge and is connected to the converter. It generates electric offset signal proportional to control surface shift relative to plane (X). Device has a programmable electronic unit which receives offset signals and compares them. Processing unit generates an error signal if as a result of comparison a value which exceeds the specified limit is obtained. Processing unit is connected to means for support and movement of sharpening means.
EFFECT: technical result is achievement of continuous inspection of sharpening of blade and, if necessary, activation of sharpening means of blade.
