FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Elastic intraocular lens (IOL) contains the optical part and the petals of planar haptic elements with a bending area. Length of haptic elements exceeds the size of the back sheet of the lens capsule, and the flexion area of the haptic elements is removed from the optical part of the lens and is designed to evenly stretch the lens capsular bag in the equatorial zone and in the anteroposterior direction. IOL contains three identical in physical and geometric parameters of the petal of haptic elements, the longitudinal axes of symmetry of which are located at angles of 120 degrees to each other. Proximal and distal ends of the haptic elements of an IOL can have both equal and different stiffness.
EFFECT: in the distal ends of the haptic elements of the IOL there are arcuate notches with a top located on the longitudinal axis of symmetry directed to the center of the optical part of the IOL and having a radius of curvature equal to 2½–3 mm.
