FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to thoracic surgery. After removing the xiphoid process, resection of the lower part of the sternum body and part of the arcus costanim is intraoperatively performed, a rectus muscle muscular flap is extracted so that its length is sufficient to eliminate the defect area, where part of arcus costanim and lower part of sternum were resected. Further, the greater pectoral muscle of the opposite side is mobilized so that the formed muscle flap has filled the defect after resection of the lower part of the sternum body. Muscle flaps excision is carried out under control of color duplex mapping of arteries. Formed muscle flaps are fixed to the wound bottom and to each other with nodal resorbable ligatures. Cut out rectus muscle flap is additionally fixed with nodal resorbable ligatures to the remaining abdominal rectus muscle.

EFFECT: method for combined chest wall myoplasty after resection of the lower part of the sternal body and ribs is presented.
