FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermoelectric energy conversion, namely to manufacture of a p-type thermoelectric material used in thermoelectric generating devices. Essence of invention: a method for obtaining a thermoelectric material based on p-type bismuth tellurides comprises synthesis of a material of a given composition by fusing initial charge components in an evacuated quartz ampoule, grinding the resultant alloy, molding a billet from the obtained powder by cold pressing, hot pressing and annealing, according to the invention, cold pressing molding is carried out to produce a billet with a residual porosity of 6–12 %, followed by heat treatment of the billet in an oxygen-containing medium or in air at a temperature of 320–350 °C for 40–60 minutes and subsequent hot pressing at a pressure of 500–600 MPa at a temperature of 375±5 °C, holding under pressure for 10±1 min and annealing in an inert atmosphere, and the heat treatment in an oxygen-containing medium is carried out until the billet mass is increased by 0.1–0.3 %.
EFFECT: increased thermoelectric quality factor of a material based on solid solutions of Bi2Te3-Sb2Te3.
