FIELD: vessels and other watercrafts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to marine floating structures used to facilitate offshore oil and gas production. Method is proposed for using a floating offshore base to provide a protected area using a tunnel for safe and easy descent or docking of a craft and loading or unloading personnel. Method can be used to move equipment between the craft and the floating offshore base using the inner mooring side of the tunnel. Floating naval base may have a floating hull, a keel, a main deck and at least two connected sections between the keel and the main deck. Connected sections may extend from the main deck down toward the keel and may have an upper cylindrical section, a transition section and a lower cylindrical section. Method uses a tunnel at a working depth with a hole in the tunnel to the outer surface of the floating hull to receive the craft.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the performance of the floating offshore base.
