FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of sheet workpieces, as well as workpieces from reinforcement rods. Device is intended for installation and removal of electrode-cap for contact spot welding, arranged on holder with external thread in its front part. Device is made in the form of cap to cover electrode with axial and lateral clearance relative to its surface and is equipped with plate having cutout for covering front part of electrode holder, ends of which protrude beyond side surface of cap. In the back part of the cap there is an internal thread with the possibility of its connection to external thread of the holder and a through transverse window for placement of the specified plate in it with a gap of its upper plane relative to the back end of the electrode. Front end of the cap has a threaded opening, in which there is a bolt having a spherical butt end and installed so that to enable its rest in the end face of the electrode. Plate consists of two halves to accommodate each of them on opposite sides of through crosswise opening of cap.

EFFECT: invention provides a high service life of the mounting surface of the holder due to exclusion of its bending during installation and removal of the electrode, due to action of only axial force acting on the electrode.
