FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in contact point welding with electrode cooling. Electrode 1 has hollow tail 2 arranged at the front of holder made up of tube 3. Electrode cooling appliance comprises tube 4 to feed coolant to tail inner space bottom for internal cooling that is arranged with clearance in holder inner space and that of electrode tail to allow circulation of said coolant. Tube rear end is communicated with smaller space and two transverse openings for coolant. Porous element 11 is arranged all around holder outer surface and communicated by pipe 12 with tan for coolant arrange under the electrode for external cooling. Holder front outer surface is conical while electrode tail outside is either conical or cylindrical.
EFFECT: reduced heating of electrode, higher durability and reliability, and simplified cooling.
