FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, namely to brake shoe of cargo railway vehicles, forming a friction pair with the rolling surface of a railway wheel. Brake shoe of railway vehicle includes metal frame and polymer composite friction element, in the center of which on the side of working surface of shoe there is cavity, depth of which is more than half of thickness of shoe. Shoe is made with flexibility in the recess area providing, at operating forces, brake block holder pressing shoe to wheel, having rolling, close to maximum allowable, coefficient of mutual overlapping of friction pair of shoe – wheel from 0.08 to 0.12.
EFFECT: enabling the required performance of the shoe not only when mounted on the wheel without rolling, but also on wheels, rolling of which is close to the maximum allowable value.
