FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: methods and systems for controlling condensate in an EGR cooler of an engine system are presented. System for controlling the exhaust gas cooler includes an engine connected to an intake system and an exhaust system; exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system that connects the exhaust system with the intake system, moreover, it is possible to control the flow of exhaust gases through the exhaust gas recirculation system to the intake system by means of an exhaust gas recirculation valve; exhaust gas recirculation cooler installed in the exhaust gas recirculation system, moreover, the exhaust gas recirculation cooler has an inlet opening connected to the exhaust system, a first outlet port connected to the exhaust system and a second outlet port connected to the intake system, moreover, the second outlet port is located vertically above the first outlet port; and a first exhaust valve of the exhaust gas recirculation cooler, which fluidly connects the first outlet port to the exhaust system, moreover, it is possible to control the flow of exhaust gases through the exhaust gas recirculation cooler to the exhaust system by means of the first exhaust valve of the exhaust gas recirculation cooler.
