FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cooling of inlet air supplied to engine. Method comprises the following steps: cooling engine by directing coolant from cooling system through engine; intake air cooling downstream of engine by means of supercharging air cooler and selectively re-cooling the intake air in each of the plurality of engine inlets by feeding the coolant through the coolant channel located around the plurality of inlet ports, wherein coolant is fed from coolant supply system separated from cooling system and comprises vacuum flask to accommodate coolant and coolant pump.
EFFECT: invention provides cooling of supercharging air downstream of compressor, increasing engine power and reducing amount of emissions.
