SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of energy absorbing devices for railway transport. Device comprises a bar with an eyelet, a housing with cutting tools and a support. Eyelet is hinged in the support. Support is connected to the hull with a collapsing fastener. Bar consists of a flat surface and a surface that tapers at an angle in the direction of the eyelet. Cutting tools are made with the possibility of cutting into a flat surface of the rod.
EFFECT: increase in the operational reliability of the device during collisions of rail vehicles is achieved.
