FIELD: computer equipment.

SUBSTANCE: computing device is proposed. Computing device is programmed to identify a vehicle windshield impact as stone impact based on data from a pressure sensor in the windshield. After the stone impact has been identified, the computing device is programmed to identify any large truck, located within a predetermined radius from the vehicle, and activate the vehicle to perform an avoidance maneuver. Method for determining and responding to stone impact on the windshield is also proposed.

EFFECT: stone impact on the windshield is prevented.
