FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: steering torque control system comprises a computer, which includes a processor and memory. Memory stores instructions executed by processor such that computer determines along nominal path, intended for passage of vehicle, potential field, which is movement corridor for vehicle. Potential field includes attraction potential, which directs vehicle so that it remains within corridor. Computer identifies first position of vehicle relative to potential field at current time, calculates torque for application to steering column based on first position relative to potential field and applies torque to steering column of vehicle.
EFFECT: increases the comfort when driving.
