SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a shock avoiding system in the vehicle body bottom (101) for installation in vehicle (101), which comprises camera (110), a computer. Camera (110) can be installed facing forward from vehicle (101). Computer includes a processor and memory and is programmed to receive first and second images from camera (110), determine height (H) of obstacle (210b) located in front of vehicle (110), using at least first and second images, and on base, at least partially, height (H) of obstacle (210b), send command via communication bus to controller of vehicle speed control component (101). Disclosed also is method of avoiding impact in vehicle body bottom.
EFFECT: avoiding impacts that can cause damage at vehicle body bottom.
