FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry and can be used for production of graphite foil, sealing materials, screens from electromagnetic radiation, antifriction composite materials, electrode materials, adsorbents and fillers. Method of processing wastes from production of flexible graphite foil and products based thereon includes the following steps: (A) grinding said wastes to particle size not greater than 4 mm; (B) impregnating milled wastes with an aqueous solution of a nitrogen-containing compound selected from a group comprising ammonium dihydroorthophosphate, ammonium nitrate and carbamide, with a weight ratio of milled production wastes to the weight of said aqueous solution as 1:(2–7); (B) separating the graphite fraction in the form of impregnated milled wastes from the solution to obtain a solid graphite fraction and a filtrate; (D) heating the separated solid graphite fraction in thermal shock mode. Then obtained low-density carbon material is subjected to cold rolling without binder to produce graphite sheet material. For impregnation it is possible to use water solution with concentration of nitrogen-containing compound 28.5–50 % and with addition of surfactant in amount not exceeding 4 % of solution weight, as well as filtrate from stage B, and before stage (D) drying separated graphite fraction.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain low-carbon low-density material, expand the range of obtained articles, recycle production wastes and thereby improve the environmental situation.
