FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining and calculating the required dose of insulin in diabetes mellitus of the second type and formed insulin dependence, including the determination of the patient's need for insulin therapy in the presence of fasting blood glucose levels over 10 millimoles / liter and postprandial blood glucose levels above 11.1 millimoles / liter, establishing the absence of a decrease in blood glucose levels and the necessary values of glycated hemoglobin after prescribing insulin therapy, followed by direct calculation of the insulin dose, in which the patient’s height and body weight are first determined, and based on the data obtained, the BMI body mass index is calculated using the formula BMI=m/h2, where m is the body weight in kg, h is the height in meters, then the duration of diabetes is determined and the required dose of insulin is calculated by the following criteria: RDI=-56.7+3.2⋅BMI-0.2⋅t, where RDI is the required dose of insulin per day; BMI = body mass index; t is the duration of diabetes mellitus in years; -56.7, as well as 3.2 and 0.2 are the numerical values of the coefficients.
EFFECT: invention allows to quickly determine the required dose of insulin in diabetes mellitus of the second type, which is relevant when solving this problem.
