SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of certifying and authenticating security documents. Disclosed are methods of certifying a secure document, comprising steps of selecting a set of unique characteristics obtained as a result of deviations of the manufacturing process and consumables, obtaining a digital image of the protected document and obtaining data on the relative position between features selected from different manufacturing processes, degree of coincidence, generating a message by measuring the degree of matching of features selected from the document and the identification data of the document, generating the hashed message, which is a message, obtained after encoding by unidirectional cryptographic hash function, encrypting hashed message using cryptographic system with a public key for obtaining a digital certificate using a private key and storing a digital certificate in an external database.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of authentication reliability.
