SUBSTANCE: invention provides a cooking device comprising heating chamber (10), heating element (12) for heating a cooking medium in the heating chamber, temperature sensor (14) for monitoring the temperature of the cooking medium over time and mass sensor (16) for monitoring the mass of the food item to be cooked in the heating chamber over time. Said cooking device also includes controller (18) for processing information from the mass sensor and the temperature sensor to predict the core temperature of the food item and control the cooking process depending on the predicted core temperature of the food item.
EFFECT: object of the invention to provide a method of predicting food core temperature, and a cooking device and cooking method, which substantially alleviates or overcomes above-mentioned problems.
