FIELD: motor vehicle industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an energy absorption device for a bumper assembly and a vehicle energy absorption system. Said energy absorption device comprises a plunger. In the method, the deformable wall extends along the axis and forms a cavity for receiving the plunger with relative movement between the plunger and the deformable wall resulting from the impact between the bumper assembly and other object. Further, the flange is attached to the deformable wall and extends between the cavity and the plunger to compress the deformable wall into the cavity. Said deformable wall is compressed inwards with the possibility of eliminating the imposition of material to meet the constraints relating to the layout in the design of the bumper assembly.
