FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire-retardant foamed materials used for protection against fire and flame propagation at civil and industrial construction facilities, sea and air transport. Composition for fire-retardant foam material contains a chlorine-containing polymer binder, a foaming agent, foaming fillers, a vulcanizing agent, a plasticiser and gelling agents. Polychloroprene latex is used as a chlorine-containing polymer binder, oxidized graphite is used as a foaming agent, anionic surfactants are used as foaming fillers, vulcanizing agent is zinc oxide, urea and trichloropropyl phosphate are used as plasticizing agent, potassium sulphate and sodium silicofluoride are used as gelling components. Composition also contains 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate as an organizer of biurethane cross-links and chain elongation. Composition can additionally contain a solvent – ethyl acetate.

EFFECT: obtained foamed material has high fire-retardant capacity, has fast start of expansion in temperature range of 140–150 °C to form foam coke when exposed to fire material, is resistant to water, petrol and oils and high mechanical strength.
