FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of load resistors and their combining systems, for use in independent power plants power circuits. Ballast device contains load resistors, insulators, mounting frame, output buses. Load resistors are formed remote from each other by current-conducting plates located in layers. Each plate has cutouts with forming of zigzag-like band with parallel longitudinal, turning and end sections. Plates are shifted in transverse direction relative to each other. On each plate band extreme parallel longitudinal sections outer side current supply and output lugs are located, and loading resistor plates bands end and turning sections are arranged in end insulators. Load resistors are combined into groups by insulators connection with formation of at least two carrying trusses.
EFFECT: considerable increase of energy discharge efficiency and reliability of ballast device operation during simultaneous reduction of occupied specific areas, volumes and weight.
