FIELD: pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cooling of direct injection pump in fuel systems of internal combustion engines. There are provided methods and systems for cooling of high-pressure fuel pump. One method involves circulating fuel from compression chamber (308) of high-pressure fuel pump (228) when bypass valve (312) is in through-pass mode into the high-pressure fuel pump sub-step space (318). Circulation of fuel through sub-step space can reduce fuel temperature in scalariform space and, accordingly, temperature of high-pressure fuel pump.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced fuel heating inside fuel pump of direct injection.
