FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy. Uniform grooves of uniform shape are formed on the surface of the steel sheet by etching. Method of forming linear grooves comprises coating a surface of a sheet of electrical steel with an oriented structure with a protective material, cyclic laser scanning in the electrical steel sheet with an oriented structure rolling direction for the protective material removal from the laser irradiated area, wherein laser beam scans in direction crossing rolling direction of electrical steel sheet with oriented structure for removal of protective material in section irradiated by laser, and etching of electrical steel sheet with oriented structure on all sections, from which protective material was removed, to form linear groove. Thickness of the layer of protective material ranges from 0.5 to 10 mcm and laser power is equal to 1,500 W or more.
EFFECT: improved magnetic properties of electro-electric steel sheet with oriented structure.
