FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines, in particular in engines with variable working volume. Method of engine control includes: in first mode with disengagement of four-stroke engine cylinders disconnection of first cylinder of four; actuation of second, third and fourth cylinders of four with 240 degrees of rotation angle of crankshaft rotation; in mode without engine cylinders switching-off the first of four cylinders operation and the first cylinder actuation in the interval between the third and fourth cylinders actuation. Invention discloses engine control system and method.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of jumps of output torque and reduction of noise and vibration during transition between various modes of disconnecting engine cylinders.
