FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with disengaged cylinders. Disclosed are methods and system for controlling transitions between operating modes of four-cylinder engine. One of the methods includes transition of four-cylinder engine between modes of operation of two cylinders, three cylinders and four cylinders. Transition comprises a sequence of two ignition acts, said two ignition events follow each other and are separated from each other by interval of 120° of crankshaft rotation angle (CRA).
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of noise, vibration and malfunction of engine during transitions between modes of operation of four-cylinder engine.
