FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-frequency reconstruction (HFR), amplified by cross products, where new component with frequency QΩ+rΩ0 is generated based on existing components with frequencies Ω and Ω+Ω0. Provided is subband block-based harmonic transposition, where the time block of complex discrete values of subbands is processed by common phase modification. Superposition of several modified discrete values gives the net effect of limiting unwanted combination components, whereby it is possible to use coarser frequency resolution and/or less oversampling. Hardware version of the invention includes an analyzing filter unit (101), a subband processing module (102) configured with control data (104) and a synthesizing filter unit (103).
EFFECT: reproducing the audio signal with high accuracy provided that the computational costs are reduced.
