FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding an audio signal. A series of signals of the analyzed sub-ranges from the input signal is obtained. Each signal of the analyzed sub-range includes a set of complex-valued analyzed discrete values, each having a phase and an amplitude. Synthesized sub-range signal is generated from signals of analyzed sub-ranges using sub-range conversion coefficient Q and sub-ranges stretching factor S, wherein at least one of the coefficients Q and S is greater than one by: generating Y frames consisting of L input discrete values, wherein each frame is extracted from said series of complex-valued analyzed discrete values in the signal of the analyzed sub-range, and the frame length is L>1; generating Y-based frames of input discrete values formed by extractor blocks, a frame of processed discrete values by determining phase and amplitude for each processed discrete frame value.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of encoded audio signal quality.
