FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pump assemblies. To achieve technical result, pump assembly (1) comprises pump unit (2) configured to provide the required head H0 at zero flow rate, brushless drive AC motor (205) with variable speed and permanent magnet for drive of pump unit (2) and drive motor (205) control unit, comprising frequency converter, configured to receive input voltage (Uin), where drive motor (205) operates in field attenuation mode and without field attenuation mode, where drive motor (205) has size smaller than standard drive of pump unit (2) at nominal input voltage (U0) for lower head H than required head H0 at zero flow rate in mode without field attenuation, and for drive of pump unit (2) for required head H0 at zero flow rate in field attenuation mode.

EFFECT: provision of pump unit with additionally optimized design, due to reduction of drive motor size, which is efficient even for operation not with full but with partial load.
