FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to diagnostics, and can be used for laboratory diagnosis of pneumonia. That is ensured by blood sampling from the artery and vein, determine presepsin content in the arterial and venous blood, comparison of arterial and venous blood presepsin values. If there is no excess of presepsin in arterial blood over venous blood, pneumonia is not diagnosed; if there is excess of presepsin in arterial blood over venous blood in first 48 hours after hospitalization, community-acquired pneumonia is diagnosed; and if there is no excess of presepsin in arterial blood over venous blood in first 48 hours after hospitalization with subsequent occurrence of excess of presepsin in arterial blood over venous blood, 48 hours after hospitalization, nosocomial pneumonia is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables reducing the length of detecting the onset infectious process in pulmonary tissue by determining the excess of presepsin level in arterial blood over venous blood by responding of cellular immunity of the lungs on the infectious focus and macrophage release after interaction with bacteria of presepsin in the vascular bed of the low blood circulation to clinical, instrumental and other laboratory signs of pneumonia.
