SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for transporting a plastic container, to a conveyor line for moving a plastic container and a method of operating the device. Device comprises support frame (3) sliding along preset path; longitudinal rod (20) with longitudinal axis (X) passing through guide holes (24', 25'), made in support frame with possibility of movement along specified axis (X) and / or rotation around this axis (X). Gripper (22) is attached to first end of lengthwise rod (20) for gripping and holding end of transported container. Device also has drive to move longitudinal rod (20) and grip (22) by a certain pitch along said axis (X), so that grip (22) can operate at three working levels or in three positions, in particular: in first initial position (L0), in second position of grip (L1) and in third free position (L2). Conveyor line for transfer of plastic container comprises multiple links, each of which contains at least one device according to invention. Method of the transportation device operation includes installation and movement of the rod along the axes for the container gripping and its movement. Method realizes stages of device operation according to invention.
