FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway locomotives, including shunting locomotives operating on natural gas. Shunting locomotive comprises main frame, detachable tank with gas cryogenic fuel, driver cabin, cooling device modules, gas diesel generator, pneumatic systems and auxiliary devices. Main frame is installed on two trolleys with wheel-motor units with motor-axial rolling bearings. Fuel tank is connected to the gasifier by a discharge cryogenic branch pipe. Fuel tank is installed above one of the locomotive bogies at the maximum distance from the driver's cab. Locomotive towball beams are installed so that at amount of fuel in removable capacity equal to 0.4–0.6 of consumable fuel margin, vertical load from main frame is distributed evenly, with deviation not exceeding allowable limits of loads difference along axles of wheel pairs of bogies.

EFFECT: reduced costs for production, maintenance and repair of locomotive.
