SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication means with a battery, specifically to the preservation of electric power of such devices. To this end, when the terminal is in control when the terminal screen switches from the on-screen state to the off-screen state, it is detected whether the enabling condition of the power-saving mode is met, and if the power-saving mode enabling condition is met, a power-saving operation is performed. Power-saving operation is used to reduce power consumption which occurs when the application program in the terminal is executed in the background. At that, the step where the power saving operation is performed includes stages, at which the application of the first type is stopped and the automatic start of the stopped application of the first type is prohibited.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of power consumption, which occurs when application program in terminal is executed in background mode.
