FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for butt-contact rod welding. Prism-shaped electrode is fixed by support surface on top surface of cooled prismatic holder having lengthwise blind channels for supply and discharge of coolant. On said surface of the holder there are two transverse grooves closed at the ends, between which there is a wall, which is the electrode support. Longitudinal blind channels for supply and discharge of coolant are open to said transverse grooves, and in the wall there are openings that are continuation of these channels. Along the perimeter of said grooves and along edges of said wall there is a drop for sealing gasket, sealing zone of coolant circulation. On top of said wall there are grooves opened in transverse grooves of holder.
EFFECT: invention ensures increase in cooling efficiency and electrode durability.
