FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contact spot welding for manufacturing a reinforcing mesh. Cooled electrode comprises a shank for fastening the welding machine arm in the socket and a tube for supplying the coolant. Cooling channel is dead-end on one side and open on the other side. Tube is installed in this channel with a lateral gap relative to its walls and with an axial gap relative to its bottom. Electrode is made with a diameter of more than 50 mm and is equipped with a nozzle for fixing said tube. Cooling channel is located across the electrode, and the nozzle is fixed in the channel by its front part and has a transverse window for draining the coolant in its rear part located outside the electrode. Tube is fixed by its rear part in the nozzle to form a lateral gap, into which the transverse window is open.

EFFECT: invention provides increased welding performance due to the formation of simultaneously 4 welded points when connecting wires with a diameter of about 5 mm.
