FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and to fat-and-oil industry, namely to a method for production of soap from fats and alkaline-earth metals. Described is a method of producing calcium salts of fatty acids, involving successive saponification of the reaction mass with sodium hydroxide and sodium substitution with calcium, in which, first, sodium hydroxide is added to the mixture of fat-containing raw material and water in amount of 2–10 times less than required for saponification of the entire fat, the end of which is determined at pH 7.5 and lower, and then calcium hydroxide is added to the reaction mixture in amount, required for substitution of whole sodium, wherein introduction of calcium hydroxide is repeated 2–10 times depending on amount of sodium hydroxide taken in reaction in the following sequence: first introduction of calcium hydroxide is carried out after neutralization of all sodium hydroxide in process of saponification, subsequent introduction of calcium hydroxide is repeated in 5–40 minutes.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of production cost and reduction of wastes.
