SUBSTANCE: device for indication of overvoltage in marine electromechanical cable with cable layer, containing at least one data and / or power transmission cable, which includes twisted conductors or fiber-optic wiring, wherein the device comprises overvoltage protection indicator cable, comprising at least one untwisted conductor located inside the electromechanical cable section, wherein said at least one untwisted core is adapted to rupture, when tension in said at least one notch core is more than allowable working load for electromechanical cable, and when is less than tension required for rupture of twisted cores or fiber-optic wire of electromechanical cable.
EFFECT: device enables to identify several overvoltage situations in the cable.
