FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to nuclear technology. Method of cutting into fragments of long elements of nuclear reactor includes arrangement of long elements inside container and their subsequent cutting. Long-length element is lowered into the container to its entire height. One performs cutting of long element at the level of upper edge of container with separation of fragment equal to height of container. Upper part of the long element left behind after cutting is lowered again inside the container to its full height and the long element is cut into fragments till its complete cutting. There is also a device for cutting into fragments of long elements of nuclear reactor.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to reduce labor intensity and duration of works on cutting of long elements, and also to minimize dose loads on service personnel.
