FIELD: continuous casting of metal.

SUBSTANCE: frame-supported continuous casting mould alignment system with the starting block (115) includes at least one support unit (164). The support unit contains at least one ball transfer bearing and is movable by means of a lifting mechanism between lowered and raised positions. In the raised position, the support assembly engages the starter block with a ball bearing to support it and allow movement of the starter block to align it with the mould. In the lowered position, the support assembly disengages from the starting block.

EFFECT: provides repeatable and precise alignment of the continuous casting mould with the starting block to seal the mould cavity to its bottom and prevent metal leakage.
