FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal casting with ingot direct cooling. Fused metal 12 is fed into casting mould inlet 14 to produce ingot 16 that has solid crust and inner fused core. Said ingot is continuously drawn outside from casting mould opening 17. Ingot is cooled at casting mold outlet by coolant jet 18 fed onto ingot outer surface. Said coolant is removed by cleaner 20 in area wherein ingot is not fully hardened. Internal heat of fused core heats again aforesaid solid crust to equalise core and crust temperatures to 425°C. Said area wherein ingot is not fully hardened is varied by adjustable supports 21 to minimise pressure differences under cleaner at various steps of casting.
EFFECT: homogenised ingot in casting.
