ARTIFICIAL IMITATION OF CHEMICAL COMPOUND RADIATIONS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A01M1/02

Abstract RU 2687149 C2

FIELD: physics; chemistry; biology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used to influence the behaviour of insects. Version of an apparatus for causing a behavioural response in an insect of a certain species comprises a housing and an emitter located inside the housing. Emitter is configured to emit radiation with multiple wavelengths corresponding to a plurality of wavelengths of the radiation spectrum of the chemical compound of interest, which causes a behavioral reaction in an insect of the given species, without using the chemical compound of interest. Apparatus also has a directing apparatus configured to direct the emitted radiation, and a power supply connected to the emitter and configured to adjust the intensity of the emitted radiation. Method of simulating radiation of a chemical compound of interest in one version includes identification of the chemical compound of interest. Chemical compound of interest is associated with a specific behavioural response in an insect of a given species. Absorption spectrum of the chemical compound of interest, which includes values of the plurality of absorption wavelengths, is determined. Stokes shift to one or more of the absorption wavelength absorption wavelengths is applied. Method includes approximation of the molecular spectrum of the radiation of the desired chemical compound based on application of Stokes shift. Molecular radiation spectrum includes the plurality of values of radiation wavelengths. Radiation signal is generated based on the molecular spectrum irrespective of whether the chemical compound of interest exists or not.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of inducing behavioural response in insects using artificial simulation of chemical compounds.
