FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pathological anatomy and histology, and can be used for storage of biopsy-operational material of thyroid gland. That is ensured by fixing the biopsy material in 10 % formalin solution. Fixation of material is performed not later than 5 minutes after dissection of thyroid tissue. Temperature of the formalin solution is 36.4–36.6 °C. Note here that vessel with fixed material is placed immediately into thermostat to maintain said temperature for the required amount of time.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve safety of biopsy-operational material and to avoid autolytic-destructive changes in excised thyroid tissue.
